Urgent Care Q & A

What is Urgent Care?

Urgent care usually refers to same-day primary care and lab services for immediate medical needs that are not life-threatening.

Why would I need Urgent Care?

If you do have a life-threatening emergency, it is important that you go to the nearest emergency room or dial 911. However, Daily Apple Clinic offers walk-in visits with little to no wait times when you need prompt, effective medical care. You or a family member may need urgent care if you experience one of the following conditions:

  • High or long-lasting fevers

  • Sore throat

  • Nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea

  • Severe or long-lasting coughs

  • Shortness of breath

  • Difficulty breathing

  • Minor burns

  • Minor fractures

  • Other injuries

  • Pelvic pain

  • Severe headaches

  • Rashes

  • Dizziness

  • Lightheadedness

  • Frequent or painful urination

When in doubt about whether your symptoms could warrant an urgent care visit, please call the Daily Apple Clinic office, and friendly staff members will gladly assist you in determining what you may need to do next and getting you the care you need.

What happens during Urgent Care visits?

During urgent care appointments at Daily Apple Clinic, compassionate staff members will greet you and quickly attend to your needs. You will tell them about your symptoms, medical history and current health conditions. They will assess your weight, temperature, pulse, blood pressure, and other vital signs. Your provider will then review your information and complete a physical exam evaluating your eyes, ears, throat, neck, and abdomen, as well as your breathing, heartbeat, and reflexes. Your provider may recommend you undergo a nasal or throat swab, urine test, blood test, asthma testing, or allergy testing. In addition, they may suggest same-day X-rays, CT scans, MRIs, ultrasounds, or other imaging procedures.

What are my treatment options during Urgent Care visits?

When you arrive at Daily Apple clinic with any illness or disease requiring urgent treatment, your provider may recommend one of the following:

  • Home remedies: Home remedies and lifestyle changes that may speed up healing. They may include getting plenty of rest, drinking more fluids, eating nutritious foods, and using ice packs, heat packs, or braces for injuries.

  • Medications: Taking over-the-counter or prescription medications can help you recover from an illness or better manage your illness or chronic disease. Your provider may also prescribe a medication that is only available through a pharmacy.

  • Injections: Injections help reduce symptoms of infection, arthritis, injuries, or allergies; vaccinations lower your chance of becoming ill, especially in the fall and winter season.

  • Inhalers: Using an inhaler can help you breathe easier if you are experiencing an acute lung infection, or struggle with asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), or other respiratory problems.

  • Injury care: Daily Apple Clinic also provides comprehensive care for wounds, burns, small or minor fractures, and other injuries to help you heal quickly and reduce pain.

  • Referrals: The Daily Apple Clinic team may refer you for hospital or specialty care if you have a serious or complex medical problem.

If you or a loved one needs same-day urgent care services, please call the Daily Apple Clinic office, walk-in, or book an appointment online today.
